Design Concept -
The concept, Interwoven, draws inspiration from Buffalo’s historic textile mills, where threads once converged to form fabrics that carried both utility and beauty. Just as yarn intertwines to create something larger than itself, the gallery becomes a space where art. people and place are layered into a collective whole. Interwoven explores the coming together of elements, spaces and stories, creating a sense of unity and flow.
This concept takes shape through spatial layering and fluid circulation. Pathways are not linear but meandering, encouraging discovery and framing multiple perspectives of the arts on display. The sense of weaving is further emphasized by creating moments of pause and visual connections.

Client Profile -

EMMA
& ANDREW
an independent curator and arts writer
an architectural photographer and an investor
Emma and Andrew’s gallery is located in Buffalo’s Allentown Historic District, New York, a neighborhood known for its cultural energy and historic charm. Buffalo has a strong neighborhood identity, where community gatherings and cultural events thrive, creating a dynamic backdrop for their vision.
They recently moved from New York City to Buffalo with the shared dream of starting their own gallery. They were drawn to Buffalo, for its former industrial areas, low-rent areas and vibrant cultural scene, seeing it as a place where their vision could take root. Their combined background in curation and architectural photography giving them a unique perspective : Emma brings a deep understanding of art and Andrew documents the stories embedded in urban spaces. Together, they aim to create a space that reflects their passion for art, storytelling and cultural experiences.
